Capital of the Roman province of Galatia in central Asia Minor. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians is addressed to churches in Galatia, but scholars disagree whether they lay in the ethnic Galatian north around Ancyra or in the southern cities of the province, such as Pisidian Antioch, Iconium and Lystra.
